Snow Labyrinth...Nope

This picture was taken two days ago on Wednesday, March 24th. A friend came over and asked if I had mowed the lawn, it looked like a crop circle. Apparently the weight of the stomped shoveled snow created this wonderful design. It's not final, but it looks as though it's time to say farewell to the snow Labyrinth for this year and give the handprint of God back to Him.

Labyrinth gets a fresh blanket of snow

Saturday night, March 20th, we received a blanket of snow, roughly 3 inches and by the end of the day, most of it melted leaving an interesting design on the Labyrinth. The second picture is all done by nature, no human intervention on the Labyrinth.

Labyrinth hanging on

March 19th. The lunation is holding on, at least in a few areas.

Snow Labyrinth Almost Gone...Grass Labyrinth?

Today it's in the upper 50's. I began to walk the imprinted path and got to the third quadrant and lost my way. I'm thinking about painting lines on the imprint...We'll see. Maybe a grass Labyrinth?

Labyrinth...Almost Gone

Yesterday a quick picture in the high 50's. Tomorrow in the 60's.

Labyrinth, well maybe

54 degree temperatures today. It's gorgeous outside. The Lunation "Berm" continues to hold it's own against the heat. The Labyrinth still holds the imprint...for now.

Snow Labyrinth Diminishes...Imprint Remains

Yesterday, I was able to walk the Labyrinth, using some focus on the path. The weight of the Labrices left an imprint on the grass which makes it possible to walk the path with concentration. As you can see the Labrices left an imprint on the grass. So, the handprint of God remains still.

The Labyrinth Shell

A view from the porch this morning. The Labrices are virtually gone, the paths are imprinted in the grass from the weight of the Labrices and walking the paths. The Lunation "Berm" still strong, the Rosette and Labyrs perservere. It's been a wonderful experience The Snow Labyrinth. I've probably shoveled 5-7 tons of snow and walked, shoveled and stomped the path, Labrices, Labyrs, Lunation "Berm" countless times. As the entire hand-print of God fades and God takes it back, I will be anxious to construct it all over again next year and see what happens with the build, walk and overall experience. I'll keep posting until there is nothing left but grass. A complete cycle from grass in the Fall to grass in the Spring.

Labyrinth Final 2010 Walk

Thursday, March 11th. I took what was to be my final walk on the Labyrinth. The Labyrs were still there and enough of the Labrices existed enabling me to walk the path without having to think about where the next turn was or where the path was. It was an enjoyable walk. Temps in the 40's. I know it was the final walk since Today, Friday February 12th I went out and began to walk the path and realized in some areas I had to think about where the path was and then it became a left brain activity and that for me, defeats the purpose of walking the Labyrinth without having to think where you are walking. The Labyrs, Rosette and Lunation "Berm" are still intact and we'll see how long they last.

Labyrinth Fading Away

I walked the Labyrinth last night. It was pretty awesome, the paths are still there. The Labyrs intact, the Rosette intact and obviously the Lunation "Berm" still there. I was able to easily walk the path. As you can see, each day with temps in the 40's is slowly taking its toll on the Snow Labyrinth.

Labyrinth...Going...

Today the sun is shining, temps in the low 40's. No snow in the near future and temps in the high 40's and rain on the way. It's time to start saying goodbye to the Labyrinth.

Labyrinth Slow Fade

March 7th. No blizzards, no storms...no snow.
40 degree temperatures, sunny days. No parkas, gloves, boots...sweatshirt and sweatpants. Today I want out in slippers and a t-shirt and barbecued. So much for the treacherous March. At least for today. The paths are still quite walkable. The Rosette, Lunation "Berm" and Labyrs are strong. The Labrices...melting, fading, leaving us.

Labyrinth Perseveres

More path...Less snow. The warm temperatures continue to take the snow...The Labyrinth still stands...More warm weather ahead...No snow in the near future.

Labyrinth Video Quick Overview

March 3rd. No new snow. Warm temperatures and as you can see from these videos an overview of the Labyrinth shows the paths with grass and the Labrices, Labyrs, Rosette and Lunation "Berm" still intact. The snow has turned to ice in most places due to melt during the warm days and freeze during the evening temps in the 20's. Now, it's a daily melt...nightly freeze. We'll see what the rest of March brings.

Labyrinth Continues

March 2nd. The snow is sparse at best. All the shoveling and piling has helped to create some height. The weather is in the high 30's and expected to stay that way for a few weeks and even go into the 40's...It's March...not may...Go figure. No snow to shovel...Time to enjoy some early spring walks in the wintery March.

Labyrinth Snow...a little bit

With some fresh snow of a few inches on February 27th, I was able to fill in the paths and cover the grass. The weather has been tame and not typical of a February winter. More erratic weather to come in the next few weeks. Spring is probably upon us and March will probably not come in like the proverbial lion but more like the lamb.
